Hello there, I'm Biju.
I am a first year graduate student studying HCI-UX Research&Design at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. Go Blue!
My journey–from Fine Art to UX Design–has been a jungle gym, requiring adaptability, resilience, and passion for storytelling. As a painter, I once spoke through brushstrokes on canvas, hoping my personal stories would resonate with viewers. Stepping beyond the
canvas into UX design taught me that those who explore their own stories deeply can also truly listen and empathize genuinely with others.

DDC Studio, non-profit organization for artists
During the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021, I co-founded a non-profit organization in my hometown, Ulsan, South Korea. What started as a personal ambition to make opportunity to showcase my paintings grew into a collaborative effort with local artists. Together, we organized over 10 community art events, organized 4 major exhibitions and increased artists' visibility, which helped boost the art scene in Ulsan.
When I first started running the organization, I thought, ‘How hard could it be?’ Turns out, organizing events and collaborating with artists is a lot like UX design—understanding people, balancing opinions, and making sure no one spills coffee on the artwork. This journey was transformative both on a personal and professional level, building a deeper love for human connection and communication, and resolving multi-faced problems. The establishment and growth of DDC Studio have been a pivotal chapter in my life journey, shaping me into a multidisciplinary individual!

Music taste is as diverse as my multidisciplinary nature!
